Language question (again) leads to denial of Bishop recall petition

A petition to recall Antrim County Clerk Victoria Bishop was again denied earlier Monday by the Board of State Canvassers.

This is the second recall petition against Bishop that was decided in a split vote along party lines.

A document obtained by IPR shows Antrim County Clerk Victoria Bishop cancelled 58 voters from the Qualified Voter Files (QVF), in violation of Michigan election law.

A total of 128 unauthorized changes to the QVF were made by Bishop between July 24, 2025 and June 3, 2026.
