Why Is a Recall Being Pursued?
The Committee to Recall Victoria Bishop believes Antrim County residents deserve accountable, lawful and professional leadership in the County Clerk’s Office. The recall petition is based on Victoria Bishop’s performance as County Clerk and actions addressed by the Michigan Bureau of Elections. This campaign will rely on official records, public documents and the approved recall petition language. Signing the petition does not remove Victoria Bishop from office. It gives Antrim County voters the opportunity to make that decision in an election.
What the Recall Petition Says
"Between July 24, 2025, and June 3, 2026, Antrim County Clerk Victoria Bishop changed voter status codes in the Qualified Voter File to ‘Cancel’. For example, Bishop changed six voter records in Mancelona Township to ‘Cancel’ on January 9, January 13, January 23, January 27, January 29, and April 16, 2026. The township clerks responsible for those voter records had not asked Bishop to make those changes on their behalf."
The petition language must appear exactly as approved by the Michigan State Board of Canvassers.

The Recall Process Facts
Our Collection Goal
Our campaign goal is to collect more than 4,500 signatures from registered Antrim County voters within 60 days.
Signature Collection Window
Only signatures collected in the 60 days preceding the filing of the petitions can be counted. Signature collection started October 14.
Official Filing and Review
Completed petitions will be filed with the Michigan Bureau of Elections for review of the petition sheets and signatures.
A Possible Recall Election
If enough valid signatures are certified, a recall election is anticipated in May 2027. We will share the confirmed election schedule when available.
